What is Perihelion?
Literally, Perihelion is the point nearest to the sun in the path of an orbiting celestial body. For me though, it symbolizes our path to the center of existence. An inner journey each one of us undertakes, with varying degrees of awareness, to the celebrated "diamond in the lotus flower", the Philosopher's Stone, the true Self.
For me though, Perihelion is simply a repository of personal experiences and insights.
It's a sort of spiritual treasure box in which my most valuable thoughts, cherished memories and daring adventures can be preserved, and perhaps be of value to others.
Why writing a blog?
Well, first and foremost, it's a way for me to better understand my own journey by condensing vague impressions and feelings into structured thoughts and ideas, thus making it easier to join the dots and get a clearer vision of the path.
If others can find any benefit in this personal exploration, it would certainly make me happy. But even if this blog shall not be read by a single person, its value would still be intact in my eyes.
23 years ago I came to (a) perihelion, the closest point to the Source of Light. That experience changed my world in ways that are still not completely clear to me, and the ramifications are wide and deep. The fear of being judged kept me from speaking out openly about it. Only very few people know the full story and even fewer believe there could be such a thing. But I feel the time has come to speak up, join my voice, my piece of the puzzle, to the global effort to bring more light into this world. There is a dire need.
More about my perihelion experience in the next post.
