Subtle Ego Deception

All these spiritual things....books, courses, gurus...appear to me more and more as distractions. They perpetuate the belief that enlightenment, the light, truth, or whatever you want to call it, is always around the corner. And so we read the next book, go to the next workshop in the hope to finally grasp it, when in reality you were never separated from it. It's all just another illusion to make us feel good about ourselves. In other words, it's the ego playing a cruel trick, deceiving us to think that we are on the right track, while we simply run around in circles, still in darkness and ignorance.
